Position Overview
We are seeking a thoughtful, affirming, and collaborative therapist to join our collective. The ideal candidate is passionate about working within a liberation-focused, identity-affirming and body-centered framework, is committed to anti-oppressive and culturally humble practice, and is excited to be part of a growing and values-driven group practice.
As a therapist at Rooted Soma, you will provide therapy services to individuals, couples, and/or families, depending on your clinical interests and licensure. You will have flexibility in scheduling, opportunities for supervision, consultation, and support in cultivating a sustainable caseload.
Responsibilities
Provide psychotherapy services to clients in alignment with Rooted Soma’s values and approaches.
Maintain appropriate clinical documentation, ethical standards, and professional boundaries and strong adherence to HIPAA compliance.
Offer affirming and inclusive care for clients across diverse identities, cultures, and relationship structures.
Engage in transparent, effective and collaborative communication with clients and colleagues.
Integrate somatic, trauma-informed, and liberation-focused frameworks into your clinical work.
Participate in collective consultation, community-building, and case collaboration with fellow therapists.
Engage in ongoing professional growth, including training and self-reflection around anti-oppression, somatics, and liberation-based practice.
Qualifications
Master’s or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Clinical Social Work, Psychology, or related field.
Active state license in Colorado and/or Virginia (LMFT, LPC, LCSW, PsyD, or equivalent). Provisional licensees (e.g., Candidates or Associates) are considered with appropriate supervision arrangements.
Strong commitment to anti-oppressive, identity-affirming, culturally humble and liberation-focused therapy.
Training or interest in somatic, trauma-informed, and/or relational approaches.
Experience working with LGBTQIA+ communities, neurodivergent individuals, BIPOC clients, and/or nonmonogamous relationships strongly valued.
Ability to work independently while also engaging collaboratively in a collective practice environment.
